Where To Watch/Stream All Of The Oscars Nominees

You never want to be the one person at your rager Oscars party who hasn't seen all the nominees.

The Oscars are fast approaching and this is the last week to make sure you're all caught up on every movie vying for gold at the award show this Sunday. With plenty of the nominees already released, where is the best place to watch all of the movies? I'll let you know what you can buy, rent, stream right now or if you have to head in for one last trip to the theater.

BEST PICTURE NOMINEES

'1917'

During World War I, two British soldiers -- Lance Cpl. Schofield and Lance Cpl. Blake -- receive seemingly impossible orders. In a race against time, they must cross over into enemy territory to deliver a message that could potentially save 1,600 of their fellow comrades -- including Blake's own brother.

Your only option to see the current (big-time) front-runner for Best Picture is in theaters and, honestly, that is the only way '1917' should be seen. It is a movie meant to be seen on the big screen, it is the odds-on favorite to take home the top prize and you should seek it out this week if you have yet to see it.

'Ford v Ferrari'

American automotive designer Carroll Shelby and fearless British race car driver Ken Miles battle corporate interference, the laws of physics and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary vehicle for the Ford Motor Co. Together, they plan to compete against the race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.

I would say 'Ford v Ferrari' is a movie worth buying and having to watch more than once. It's a fantastic racing and sports movie and the stunning visuals are enough on its own to give the movie a big "re-watchability" score.

'The Irishman'

In the 1950s, truck driver Frank Sheeran gets involved with Russell Bufalino and his Pennsylvania crime family. As Sheeran climbs the ranks to become a top hit man, he also goes to work for Jimmy Hoffa -- a powerful Teamster tied to organized crime.

NOMINATIONS: 10 - Best Picture, Actor in a Supporting Role (2x), Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Film Editing, Production Design, Visual Effects, Writing (Adapted Screenplay)

Why would you buy this movie? This is a Netflix staple and will be on their platform until the end of time. If you haven't watched it yet, try and watch the movie straight through… don't be a fucking weirdo and break it down into a mini-series, it's only three hours!

'Jojo Rabbit'

Jojo is a lonely German boy who discovers that his single mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their attic. Aided only by his imaginary friend -- Adolf Hitler -- Jojo must confront his blind nationalism as World War II continues to rage on.

NOMINATIONS: 6 - Best Picture, Actress in a Supporting Role, Costume Design, Film Editing, Production Design, Writing (Adapted Screenplay)

Good news, 'Jojo Rabbit' is hitting digital services this Tuesday! It's a wild ride of a movie and proof that Taika Waititi is one of the most creative writer-directors in Hollywood. There are people up in arms over this movie, but I cannot recommend it enough. This is a movie worth a rent and, if you like it, a possible full-on purchase.

'Joker'

Forever alone in a crowd, failed comedian Arthur Fleck seeks connection as he walks the streets of Gotham City. Arthur wears two masks -- the one he paints for his day job as a clown, and the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel like he's part of the world around him. Isolated, bullied and disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.

No shit on this one, as 'Joker' has been out of theaters and available to watch for quite a while now. It will be long after the Oscars, but the Joaquin Phoenix movie (he is the sure-fire pick to win Best Actor in a Leading Role) will be on HBO's streaming service, HBO Max, along with the rest of the DC Universe this upcoming Summer.

'Little Women'

Jo March reflects back and forth on her life, telling the beloved story of the March sisters - four young women each determined to live life on their own terms. (via IMDb)

Your only opportunity to see 'Little Women', a movie not expected to pick up any hardware, before the Oscars is to head to the movie theater. It is expected to hit the internet in early March, but, for now, you will need to shell out some coin and head on down to the cinema.

'Marriage Story'

A stage director and his actor wife struggle through a gruelling, coast-to-coast divorce that pushes them to their personal and creative extremes.

NOMINATIONS: 6 - Best Picture, Actor in a Leading Role, Actress in a Leading Role, Actress in a Supporting Role, Music (Original Score), Writing (Original Screenplay)

Unlike with 'The Irishman', there's no weird option to buy 'Marriage Story' anywhere. You can stream it on Netflix and I would say it is worth checking out as it is poised for a win with Laura Dern in the Supporting Actress category and is filled with fantastic performances.

'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'

Actor Rick Dalton gained fame and fortune by starring in a 1950s television Western, but is now struggling to find meaningful work in a Hollywood that he doesn't recognize anymore. He spends most of his time drinking and palling around with Cliff Booth, his easygoing best friend and longtime stunt double. Rick also happens to live next door to Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate -- the filmmaker and budding actress whose futures will forever be altered by members of the Manson Family.

Much like 'Joker', you've been able to rent and buy 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' for quite a while. It's one of the best movies of the decade for me (you'll hear this again momentarily), but I want to call to attention a cool documentary they dropped on YouTube…

Good watch, check it out! It's also worth noting that Tarantino's most recent movie is one of only two movies that has a realistic chance to beat '1917' in the Best Picture race.

'Parasite'

Greed and class discrimination threaten the newly formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan.

The most talked-about movie of the awards season is finally available to watch and it is a must-see before the Oscars. It might pull an upset in the Best Picture category and you will hear about this movie, and its director Bong Joon Hoo, at every turn of the show. This is also one of the best movies of the decade in my opinion and, despite the sub-titles, I have yet to hear someone say they dislike this movie. It's an insane, wild and mind-blowing ride.
